In these sessions Jake Xuereb, PhD student at the Atominstitut in Vienna, will give a crash course about how to think quantumly about computing.
He'll cover :
- The necessary maths.
- Quantum vs Classical Coins.
- Entanglement
- Basics of Quantum Circuits.
- Probabilistic vs Quantum Computing.
- The Deutsch-Josza Algorithm and Simon's Problem. -
Together with Dr Elisa Baümer, a researcher at IBM Quantum Zürich, you will learn all about the Basics of Quantum Algorithms and even program your own using the Qiskit platform!
Elisa will cover :
- Quantum Teleportation
- Grover's Algorithm
- And much more! -
In this tutorial, Mirko Consiglio, a final year PhD student at the University of Malta, will introduce Variational Quantum Algorithms, that leverage both quantum and classical resources to solve optimization problems
In particular, Mirko will walk you through the Variational Quantum Eigensolver, which will enable you to determine the ground-state of the hydrogen molecule!
-
Alessandro Summer a 3rd year PhD student from Trinity College Dublin will introduce us to the Quantum Approximate Optimsation Algorithm and its surrounding techniques.
Beginning with the theory and ideas behind it Alessandro will show us how this technique can solve the MAX-CUT problem.
